Biography:

William Jeffery is an Academic Specialist and Instructor in the Department of Media and Information at Michigan State University. He also serves as the Curriculum Director for the MSU Media Summer Camps and manages the Games for Entertainment and Learning (GEL) Lab. William completed both his undergraduate and graduate degrees at Michigan State, specializing in Video Game Design and Development.

Will likes to focus on game feel and the overall design decisions in games. His specialty is breaking down the balance and mechanics of games, finding out what makes them fun and re-playable. He created MI482 (Building Virtual Worlds) a class that dives into the specific design choices and trends of games spanning all genres and types.

His goal is to assist students in making their games “fun”, and helps them identify their areas of expertise and interest in game design.
